In summer or winter, mainland Portugal’s highest mountain is the perfect scenery for a few relaxing days in contact with nature. At 1,993 metres at its highest point in Torre, Serra da Estrela is an area of rare landscape beauty, with striking mountain drops, where you can have a deep experience of the silence of the heights. Take advantage of those moments of communion with nature to observe it, discovering the diversity of plants and birds and the flocks of sheep herded by Estrela dogs from the breed named after the Mountain.

The house was recovered in late 2021, considering its original structure, using local materials and workmanship, respecting the environment and the Lorigues neighbors. On the entrance floor the house has two bedrooms with wardrobes, a pellet stove, a bathroom with shower, access to the lower floor of the garage and access to the upper floor. On the larger upper floor, you will find the living room with sofa bed, a balcony with a beautiful view, bathroom, kitchen, dining table, and access to the terrace where you can also have your meals.
UNBELIEVABLE BEAUTY
Where several hiking trails of different difficulty levels begin. In cold weather you can also ski and snowboard on the slopes just 20km away. In the warmer months the river beach of Loriga is a must, it is 2km from the house. If you like Stand Up Paddle, I suggest a few hours well spent in Lagoa Comprida, 14km away. You can also spend a beautiful day in Piodão and Foz de Égua, just 24 km from Casa da Cantareira.
DEFINITION OF COZY
In Loriga, you can walk to the café, grocery stores, restaurants, children's playground, ATM, bakery, butcher, etc. or simply to accompany Pastor Paulo and his flocks on a walk.
